The CCA is an entry level credential certifying data quality skills for coding professionals in all healthcare settings, including both inpatient and outpatient.
- High school diploma or international equivalent
The following are also recommended:
- Six months coding experience directly applying codes; OR
- Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program; OR
- Completion of other coding training program to include anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basic ICD diagnostic/procedural and basic CPT coding.
